New area coin club to feature national certification service

A diver's spotting something metallic not far from the Sardinian coast has led to the discovery of tens of thousands of ancient bronze coins. GALENA, Kan. — Known as the “Oldest Mining Town” in Kansas, Galena is hosting the Route 66 Coin, Gold, and Silver Show on September 26 as part of the 100th anniversary of the historic Mother Road. As part of the celebration, the American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS), the oldest coin grading service in America, will be on site to rate collectors’ coins.
