Jeanette Agnes Morey passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by love, with her son, Donn Eric Morey, and his fiancée, Shelly Keith, by her side.
Jeanette was born on Aug. 23, 1939, to Richard and Josephine Wettstein. On Nov. 28, 1959, she married the love of her life, Donald G. Morey, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kansas. After welcoming their son, the couple made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Jeanette devoted herself to both her family and her faith.
In Tulsa, Jeanette worked in Administration at Bishop Kelley High School and was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she faithfully served in the Altar Society and Church Choir. Her dedication to the church and her quiet commitment to service were hallmarks of her life. Jeanette and Don remained in Tulsa until retirement, when they returned to the family farm in Frontenac, Kansas, where Don had been raised and where many cherished memories were made.
After returning to Frontenac, Jeanette continued her lifelong service to the church, becoming President of the Altar Society at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Her faith, generosity, and willingness to serve others remained constant throughout every season of her life.
Jeanette is survived by her beloved son, Donn Eric Morey of Rose Hill, Kansas; his fiancée, Shelly Keith of Mulberry, Kansas; her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, and Jacob Morey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Edwards of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Morey; her parents, Richard and Josephine Wettstein; her sisters, Jody Wettstein, Helena Rheums, and Freda Peaster; her great-nephew, Tyler Rheums; and her brothers-in-law, Orville Rheums and Frank Edwards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Feb. 28, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rosary recited prior to Mass at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at Frontenac City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund in memory of Jeanette Agnes Morey.
