Girard boys wrestling finished 16th overall among 28 teams with 69.5 points Saturday in the two-day 42nd annual Rose Hill Invitational.
Rose Hill won the event going away with 238 points, with Arkansas City second at 159.5 and Nixa (Mo.) third with 151 points.
Storm Rieck (132 pounds) led the Trojans with a second-place finish. Drake Smith (126) placed fifth and Robbie Bruning (157) sixth.
Rieck (30-3) pinned his first four opponents, Great Bend's Kawika Martinez in 18 seconds, Fredonia's Charley Ecton in 12 seconds, Bishop Carroll's Cage Hatcher in 2:55 and Nixa's Jax Adams in 1:21. Rose Hill's Sebastian Bentley (30-7) edged out Rieck 9-8 for the title.
Rieck scored 28 of the Trojans' 69.5 points.
Smith (32-7) went 4-2 with two wins by fall, one by a tech fall and one by a decision. He pinned Nixa's Cameron Madderra in 3:48 and Andover Central's Ethan Worthington in 2:12. Smith defeated Eureka's Mason Hughes 17-0 and Andover's John Martinez Goodman 11-6.
Bruning (25-10) finished 3-3 with two wins by fall and one by a major decision. Bruning pinned Chapman's Ian Sayers in 2:27 and Goddard-Eisenhower's Michael Boughton in 2:40 and won 16-4 over Wamego's Kelton Ross.
The Trojans wrestle next Feb. 21 in the Class 4A Regional C hosted by Paola. Girard wrestled earlier this season in the Paola Invitational (Jan. 23), finishing ninth among 15 teams with 86.5 points and individual titles won by Smith and Bruning.
