Back before camps

The abundance of youth summer camps these days got me thinking about summers when I was a boy in the 1950s and 60s. Other than church and scout camps, I can’t remember hearing of anyone hereabouts going off to a camp – except for satirist Alan Sherman who sang “Hello muddah. Hello fattah. Here I am at Camp Grenadah.” from the jukebox
